A message from the new CEO of Ivor King 12 October 2023

Simon King lays out plans to lead the business into the future

“As we rapidly approach our 50th anniversary, it’s a good time to take stock of our journey over the last half a century and review our aspirations for the future.

Ivor King is a family-owned business that has grown from one man’s vision, to become a dynamic leading UK piling contractor that continues to evolve.

My father, now well into his eighties, has devoted more than half his life to the company. Whilst not being directly involved on a day-to-day level anymore, he still takes a very keen interest in our progress.

So I am proud beyond words that my father has passed the baton to me, as I become Chief Executive Officer of the Company.

I am extremely passionate about every aspect of our Business, and I will continue to focus on innovative and strategic initiatives that will strengthen our business model and enhance our Client offering.

But, as I have said before, and as my father has always recognised, success would not be possible without the efforts of the dedicated team around me. For this reason, my fellow Directors are stepping up and taking on additional responsibilities to allow this transition, and ensure smooth running of the business.”

Stengthening the management structure

“Mark Brewer becomes Group Managing Director, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the business, with Dave Smith and Andy King elevated to Group Finance Director and Group Contracts Director respectively.

Three new Associate Directors, Tom Goodyear, Alex Westgate and Tim Howard have been appointed from the Management Team to support the directorate with their new remits.

Rest assured, I will continue in my new role as CEO to lead the Business, set our visions, and provide overall direction, as we look towards the future in a truly confident, ambitious and optimistic manner.”
