CPCS (Construction Plant Competence Scheme) Courses
This CPCS training course is intended for anyone wishing to train in the role of the Piling Rig Attendant. The aim is to ensure candidates can carry out the role in a competent, safe manner after passing both the CPCS theory and practical tests.
Course Details
• To name and explain the purpose of principal plant components, the basic construction, controls and terminology
• Conforming with manufacturer’s requirements as per the operator’s handbook, and relevant regulations and legislation
• Undertaking all pre-use plant equipment checks
• Outlining your role in setting up and rigging equipment
• Explaining the purpose of having work platform certificates
• Manoeuvring in confined spaces
• Guiding a piling rig to a given location including through areas of limited space
• Explaining actions required for hazards, underground and overhead services
• Explaining how piling rigs are configured for travel
• Complying with signals and instructions
• Maintaining safe working situations
• Explaining lifting requirements and limitations using a piling rig
• Assisting in shut down and securing procedures
• Explaining the de-rigging, loading and unloading procedures for machine transporting
