Our heavy haulage and abnormal load service can carry anything ranging from large industrial and agricultural items, power generators and compressors to more fragile and unusual freight such as boats.

We have a team of experienced knowledgeable staff that will work with you to find the best solution to meet your needs. We work closely with you, the police, highways authorities and relevant local county councils to ensure every movement is authorised and routed correctly.

Many different large, wide or high abnormal loads require an escort vehicle (or pilot car) by law. Our own in-house fleet of escort vehicles are designed to meet the specifications of the Highway Agency’s Self-Escorting of Abnormal Loads and Abnormal Vehicles Code of Practice and are readily available 24/7 to help ensure the smooth and safe transit of your goods.

Our experienced drivers are CPCS / Lorry Loader trained, ensuring they comply with stringent loading and unloading protocols, and that correct method statements are observed and best practice followed at all times. Furthermore, we’re FORS Silver accredited (Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme) which confirms we can confidently demonstrate dedication to driver and vehicle safety, combined with a commitment to improving operating practices through effective monitoring of fuel and tyre usage.

When you choose Ivor King Transport to deliver your heavy or abnormal loads, you can relax in the confidence of knowing you have entrusted a team of professionals to deliver your goods safely, securely and on time.
